Pesticide Prevention

Speaker: John Bambach Clemson University, Investigator IV / Regulatory Specialist

John spoke about what he is commissioned to do for the state and federal regulation of licensing and the use of pesticides. 

When considering the possibility of a bee kill, the following is useful for investigations:

1. Site matters to know when pesticides have been used.

2. Who are the land owners, who owns right away.

3. Must know within a 1 week period.

 

These are the action items John suggested that we do:

Take an active roll in your environment.  Register your name with Duke Power. Get into our community to get our concerns known.  Pay attention to what is going on around your apiary sites.
